Crash in Turner kills Jay man, hospitalizes 23-year-old

Out of a two-car crash in Turner on May 24, 2018, one person died and another went to the hospital

*UPDATE* 5/24 3:45 p.m. – The county sheriff's office said Thursday afternoon that 54-year-old William Rodgers of Jay was the person killed in the crash.

According to police, Rodgers' minivan and a Jeep driven by Christian Parlin, 23, of Livermore collided on Auburn Road. The vehicle is registered to Timothy Parlin, also of Livermore.

Rodgers died at the scene and Parlin was taken to Central Maine Medical Center.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

TURNER (NEWS CENTER Maine) -- One of the people involved in an early morning crash between two cars in Turner is dead.

A dispatcher for the Androscoggin County Sheriff's office said the crash at 1 a.m. on Thursday brought emergency crews to Route 4, near Mason Road.

In addition to the person who died in the crash, a second person went to hospital.

After several hours on the scene, crews finished their work and reopened the road to normal traffic for the morning commute.
