I-95 southbound traffic diverted at Exit 193; LifeFlight responding to serious accident

The interstate in that direction has been shut down to allow for LifeFlight to land.

State Police say a young man from Bradley was seriously injured in a one-car crash on Interstate 95 in Orono early this afternoon.

State Police say a young man from Bradley was seriously injured in a one-car crash on Interstate 95 in Orono early Monday afternoon. 

Police say 19-year-old Alexander Littlefield is being treated at EMMC. He was flown to the hospital by a Lifeflight helicopter, which landed on the interstate to transport him.

A State Police spokesperson said the accident was at Mile Marker 191 southbound on I-95. The interstate in that direction was shut down to allow for LifeFlight to land.

Troopers said Littlefield’s car went out of control in the southbound lane, went into the median, overturned and struck several trees.

The Maine Department Of Transportation had signs alerting drivers to divert at Exit 193. Please seek an alternate route and avoid the area.
