Meteorologist Steve McKay has been part of the NEWS CENTER team since 1994. He forecasts each weekday for WLBZ NEWS CENTER 2 at 5:00 pm, 5:30 pm, 6:00 pm, and 11:00 pm.
Steve received his bachelor's degree from the University of Maine at Orono and completed the Broadcast Meteorology Program at Mississippi State University. Before coming to NEWS CENTER Steve worked as a radio broadcaster for more than ten years.
Steve says, "One of the best things about my job is visiting schools to talk to kids about weather." He has made hundreds of visits to schools in Central, Eastern and Northern Maine. Steve has earned the Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society and the National Weather Association.
Steve and his family live in Orono. Steve has also completed a Master's Degree at Bangor Theological Seminary and serves as Pastor of the Orono United Methodist Church. Steve and his family take pleasure in exploring the great State of Maine. Steve enjoys American History and sports of all kinds, especially golf.
