New Maine Chancellor brings unique skills

This week's guest is Dr. James H. Page, the Chancellor of the University of Maine System. Jim is a native Mainer. He was born in Caribou and attended Caribou High School. He graduated from Governor Dummer Academy (now The Governor's Academy) in Newbury, Massachusetts.

He took time off after high school. He then earned a bachelor's at the University of Maine at Fort Kent. He strengthened his transcript with some graduate courses at Harvard. He earned a master's degree from St. Andrews in Scotland and a Ph D from M. I. T.

He taught at Harvard, M. I. T., Dartmouth, McAlister and the University of Kansas. In 1999, at the invitation of his uncle Joe Sewall, he came back to Maine to run the Sewall Company, a natural resources and engineering firm in Old Town.

Over the next fifteen years, he began teaching Philosophy as an adjunct at the University of Maine.

He is married to Liane Judd, a partner in the marketing firm of Judd Kaye and Packard. Jim and Liane have a daughter named Maddy.
