SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Two and a half years after a machete attack left her scarred and recovering from a brain injury, Nikki Guerrette saw a wish come true Friday.

Thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Guerrette, her mother and two friends were treated to manicures at Fabu in Portland, makeovers at Macy's and a shopping spree at the Maine Mall.

Nikki's mother, Melanie, says she hasn't seen her daughter smile so much in a long, long time.
