MAINE CDC HEAD OFFERS FLU SEASON TIPS

Dr. Sheila Pinette is the head of the Maine Center for Disease Control.

To check on the flu vaccine supply call 211  or visit www.maineflu.gov for  pharmacies that have flu vaccine near your zip code.

 

To locate antiviral medications such as Tamiflu and Rezelen, call the Northern Northeast Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222.

 

It is important to note that if schools have a greater than 15% abseenteeism rate they must notify the Maine CDC to open an investigation as to the cause, i.e. pertussis, flu or norovirus for example.  Please call 1-800-821-582  to report.
