ARTIST ORLY GENGER
Orly Genger creates sculptures and large-scale installations from painted rope based on her prints and drawings. This summer, she had a sculpture on display in New York's Madison Square Park. It's made of 1.4 Million feet of hand-crocheted lobster fishing rope, the majority of which is from Maine. The sculpture covers 4,500 square feet on three separate lawns in the park.
The sculpture was taken apart and moved to the deCordova Museum in Lincoln, Massachusetts in November.
