AUBURN, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Those who work on developing Maine's economy know there is a strong connection between their success and the transportation infrastructure.

The six economic development districts across the state are working on a program called Mobilize Maine.  It's an initiative with Fairpoint, the State and the development districts to address our unique 'hidden assets' to build a stronger community.

They look at the obvious areas like skiing, the coast and agriculture as well as more obscure attractions like rock hounding.

Maine's Department of Transportation Commissioner, David Cole, says business in Maine can grow with a strong transportation infrastructure.

Voters in Maine will weigh in on the latest bond package to include $5-million for the Lewiston-Auburn area to expand the rail corridor to move both products and eventually people.
