PORTLAND, Maine (AP) -- The fierce rivalry between high school football teams from the Maine towns of Cape Elizabeth and Rumford is being showcased in a television documentary.
"The Rivals" premieres Saturday on the Smithsonian Channel.
The show follows the teams from Rumford's Mountain Valley High School and from Cape Elizabeth High School for a season on the gridiron. The show was filmed in 2007 and produced by Lone Wolf Documentary Group in South Portland.
The Smithsonian Channel bills the show as a story of two teams from two very different towns: gritty, blue-collar Rumford and affluent, white-collar Cape Elizabeth.
The premiere airs at 9 p.m. Saturday. The show also airs Sunday, at midnight and again at 2 p.m.
