BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) --- Both the prosecution and defense have rested their cases in the murder trial of Rory Holland and closing arguments are expected to get underway at the Penobscot Judicial Center on Wednesday.
Holland stands accused of murder in the shooting deaths of 19-year-old Gage Greene and his 21-year-old brother Derek. Authorites say the 56-year-old shot both men outside of his South Street home in Biddeford on the early morning of June 30, 2009. Holland claims he was acting in self-defense.
Tuesday morning Judge Roland Cole briefed the jury on Holland's decision not to testify in his own defense. His attorneys say their client made that decision after much thought and was fully aware of his rights.
Closing arguments are expected to get underway Wednesday morning.
