KENNEBUNK, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - The Maine Attorney General's office is investigating the deadly shooting of a woman in Kennebunk by a police officer.
The Kennebunk Police Department says officer Joshua Morneau and Sergeant Juliet Gilman were called to a home at 16 Nottingham Court Sunday at 8:55 PM.
In a news release, the department says Morneau and Gilman met with the caller, and shortly after Officer Morneau was "confronted with deadly force."
Morneau then shot and killed Katherine Paulson, 39, who lived at the address.
Officer Morneau has been placed on administrative leave while the Attorney General's office investigates. That is standard procedure for any officer-involved shooting.
The Kennebunk Police Department will also carry out their own investigation.
