BREWER, Maine (NEWS CENTER) --- Hundreds of people walked the streets of Bangor and Brewer Saturday to support people living with Multiple Sclerosis.

The Brewer Bangor MS walk is put on each year to support the National MS Society. MS is a neurological disease that affects the brain and the spinal cord. It is estimated that about 3,000 people in Maine are living with it.

Funds raised from the walk go to support the MS Foundation and provide money for educational programs and research for a cure.

"Obviously the more people we have come out the more successful these events are," said Steve Faloon, who is with the society, "But this event has gained great success over the years through the hard work of the volunteer committee and the participation of the people who come out and put on the orange shirts and walk in support of MS."

Walkers made their way across the Twin Cities starting and ending at the Brewer Auditorium. In all more than 300 people participated.
