CASTINE, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Tom Brown of Castine has won silver and bronze medals in Paralympic sailing races.  He is preparing for the American Olympic trials and hopes to earn a third trip to the games.

Brown is the sailing coach at Maine Maritime Academy.  He has rejuvenated the team there.  They have won the JFK Cup emblematic of being the top collegiate sailors in the country.  They earned the right to go to the worlds in France next month.

Brown's challenge will be ominous.  He helped the United States earn a berth in the Paralympic Games.  Now he must be the top racer in order to win that one American spot.  The Olympic trails will be held over two weeks in January at two different venues.

Brown is pleased with his perfromance, but happier for his kids who have brought a great deal of positive publicity to the school.
"It's great to see these kids when they're winning, when they're excited to go to these events.  They're excited about learning.  They are more than hungry."
