  • The challenges we face in life only help make you stronger. At times we think we want to give up when things feel overwhelming. In this Fit at Five we introduce you to someone who shows you that anything is possible once you believe you can reach your goals.

There is no question when you meet Will Smith that he is a strong man, but it isn't until you hear what he has been through that you see just how strong he really is. Will had been living over in Italy, and had been competing in body building competitions. On the surface Will looked healthy, but he knew he didn't feel right.

It was after multiple hospital visits, and a temporary loss of sight that doctors found that his toxin levels were through the roof. His body was shutting down on him, and he had to start dialysis. That did not stop Will. His family had moved back from Italy to Maine where he opened up his gym. He started training people while he was on dialysis. Changing people's life while he worked to change his own.

It was through the bond of a trainer and his client that he was able to get a new kidney. When his client first approached him about it Will thought that in no way they would be compatible for the surgery. The person that Will had given a second chance in life by changing her body had now given Will another chance at a healthier life.

Will's story is truly inspirational. He hopes that his story will help to inspire others to see their own potential. We have provided a link to Will's website if you would like to learn more about his journey. He plans to compete in next year's Maine Fitness Expo. That link is also provided.
