ORONO, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- After sweeping through Aubert Hall Thursday morning, Police say they found no bomb and reopened the building.

Campus police received a call from a person who said they received an anonymous email claiming there was a bomb in Aubert Hall, which houses the chemistry department.  A portion of Munson Road and West Mall Road was closed to create a perimeter around the building and a campus alert went out and was posted on the UMaine website.  It read:

"Bomb threat reported at Aubert Hall. Stay away. Building has been evacuated. Police are investigating. More information to follow."

That alert was taken down at about 11:00am and a new one now states:

"The bomb threat at Aubert Hall has been cleared. Normal activities including classes scheduled at 11:00 can now resume."

Orono Police and Fire and Campus Police responded to the bomb threat. The UMaine IT department is working with campus police to find out the origin of the email.
