BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) --- Final preps are being made for another summer of outdoor concerts on the Bangor Waterfront.

'Waterfront Concerts' will kick off its summer lineup this Wednesday night as the Trans-Siberian Orchestra will be taking to the stage. City crews were busy this afternoon at the waterfront working on the grounds around the stage.

In all, 14 concerts are scheduled for the series this summer. They include country music groups as well as rock bands. At this point the lineup will end with Journey, Pat Benatar and Loverboy performing on Friday September 28.

"I think it's {Journey} one that the community wanted," said Alex Gray, who is the president of 'Waterfront Concerts, "last year somebody started a 'Bring Journey to Bangor' Facebook page when there was some conversation in the off season as to what people wanted... and so in the grand scheme of things we're very excited to have them coming."

Gray added that there could very well be more groups signing on soon to play in Bangor this summer. He expects to announce at least one new show later this week.

Gates for Wednesday night's show on the waterfront will open beginning at 6 p.m.
