TURNER, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -  The Androscoggin County Sheriff's department has now charged 67 year old John Hunnewell with reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon.

At noon yesterday -- Emergency crews responded a call that a person had been threatening with a weapon in the area of 1630 Auburn Road.

Police say Hunnewell had threatened someone with a gun -- but then barricaded himself inside his house.

The Maine State police tactical team was called in along with Maine wardens.

After 14 hours -- Hunnewell was taken into custody without incident.

He's now in a hospital being treated for a medical condition not related to the standoff.
