PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- NEWS CENTER has declared Kevin Raye as the winner of the Republican primary in the race for the U.S. Representative 2nd District.
Kevin Raye of Perry is the president of the Maine Senate, a former aide to Sen. Olympia Snowe and the owner of a longtime family business, Raye's Mustard mill in Eastport. Raye defeated R. Blaine Richardson.
Voter turnout appears to be extremely low. Kevin Raye will now move on to challenge Rep. Mike Michaud for Maine's second district congressional seat in the November election.
