(NEWS CENTER) -- After a 3-year battle with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, Robert York of Richmond passed away at the age of 36.
It was a heartbreaking way for his family and friends to watch his healthy slowly deteriorate. Those who knew him believe that there needs to be more education about ALS, a disease that takes more lives than Huntington's or multiple sclerosis. York's friends have organized a foundation ride that starts at 11am on Sunday at Raven's Roost in Brunswick.
