Summer doesn't officially arrive until a little after 7pm, but the heat and humidity are here! The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the places you see listed at the top of the screen. These locations are were we are expecting heat index values (what it feels like outside) to be around 100 degrees. Today is one of those days that you really want to take things slow, and stay hydrated. The humid conditions stay with us through the end of the work week. Things will still be a little sticky on Saturday. Comfortable conditions return Sunday.

This Afternoon - Hot and humid! Highs today will soar into the 80s and 90s even along the coast. The UV index is at 9 today which is extremely high. That gives you a burn time of about 15-25 minutes if you are not wearing sunscreen. There is just the slight chance of some isolated thunderstorms popping up during the afternoon.

Tonight - Partly cloudy skies, isolated thunderstorms, and lows in the 60s.

Thursday - Highs will still be in the 80s with a few places topping out in the low 90s. Humid conditions continue, and we have the chance of some scattered thunderstorms during the afternoon.

Extended Forecast - Friday will still be humid, but highs will be slightly cooler. There is a better chance of more widespread afternoon thunderstorms on Friday. More clouds and scattered showers head our way for the start of the weekend. Finally by Sunday things will start to feel more comfortable. That being said we will still have the threat of showers in the forecast.
