Vintage Baseball at the Freeport Historical Society

On Sunday, June 24th at 1:00pm at historic Pettengill Farm (located 1.5 mi. from the main L.L.Bean store) join us as Dirigo (ME) and Ipswich (MA) vintage baseball teams play baseball according to the 1860 rules on our farm field. Bring a blanket or folding chair, an umbrella and enjoy a summer's afternoon watching the early days of what would become America's favorite pastime!

After the teams play each other, the community is invited to play the teams! The game rules will be explained.

The 2004 and 2007 Red Sox Trophies will be on display!!

Old-time music from The Maine Squeeze Accordion Band will be featured before and after the game.

Of course, beer was a staple at ballgames since its earliest days and we will not disappoint. Sausage sandwiches, hotdogs and Ben & Jerry's ice cream will be available.
