Man killed in North Yarmouth plane crash

...Update at 11:40 PM... The Cumberland County Sheriff's Department says pilot William Gaddis was pronounced dead at Maine Medical Center as a result of the injuries he suffered in the incident.

NORTH YARMOUTH, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The Cumberland County Sheriff's Department is investigating a deadly plane crash in North Yarmouth Sunday night.

Officials say just after 7:00PM, 75-year old William Gaddis had taken off from his private air strip on Mill Road in North Yarmouth... only to crash into trees just down the road.

The Ultra Light air craft was trapped 60 feet into the trees... Gaddis pulled himself from the plane and tried to climb down, but fell about 40 feet to the ground. He was taken by Life Flight to Maine Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
