BROWNVILLE, Maine (NEWS CENTER)--Governor LePage met with town and state officials to assess the recent flood damage in Brownville.

Governor LePage made the trip from Augusta to see for himself how bad things are. The town manager declared Brownville a disaster area but that may not secure funding for repairs.

Damages must reach 1.8 million dollars across the state before a "disaster area" can be proclaimed by the president and the state can get federal dollars to pay for repairs.

The cost of the repairs has not been fully totaled yet. Officials in Brownville estimate repairs to take several weeks before the town will be back to normal and traffic can move freely again.
