PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A special guest attended the Portland Rotary Club's meeting at the Holiday Inn by the Bay on Friday.
Mako, Portland's newest K-9 and his handler Officer Zack Finley gave a demonstration to the members. The dog and officer go through a lengthy training process together utilizing only "positive" training methods.
The addition of Mako was made possible through a donation by the Rotary Club of $6,600.
Officer Finley and Mako hope to get certified by this fall and join the other teams that are trained for lost people, articles, narcotics and assist in suspect apprehension.
