BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER)-- Rascal Flatts, Little Big Town and Eli young will perform Friday night on the Bangor waterfront. Busy work crews setting up say this is the one of 4 shows in 5 days.
To get ready for those shows, there is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes. Michael Fisher is in charge of the production crew that helps bands set up the stage and lights. He said they finished tearing down for the band Shine down around 3:15 this morning and had to get up at 6:30 to be ready for today's load in.
Michael Fisher Said, "Most people think it's a pretty cool gig but it's a lot of grunt work. Lot of grunt work. I mean today we're running almost 60 people to get it in here this morning. And tonight we'll add another 8 to 10 people so that we can get them out on time. So that they can get to their next show on time to load in."
Robbie Snow is the production manager with Waterfront Concerts. He says there are a lot of meetings off stage that he has to do as well. Snow says, "I meet with the security team, a briefing with the bands, the chair company and marking the chairs. The catering people up in the tent, vendors showing up. There seems to be about 2 to 300 people on site to prepare for a 5 hour show."
Crews get to do it all over again on Sunday when REO Speedwagon, Styx and Ted Nugent perform.
