PROSPECT, Maine (NEWS CENTER)-- The Maine chapter of Americans for Prosperity had an economic freedom festival at Fort Knox today.

A representative from Americans for Prosperity said the goal of the event was to teach people about economic freedom through limited government. Several speakers were on hand including Gov. LePage and radio talk show host Howie Carr.

Carr said he wanted to stress the importance of voting.

"I think I'll just be talking about the need to get everybody out to register to vote. It's a important election," Carr said.

Gov. LePage said he was going to speak about the importance of freedom.

"Freedom is not free and it's very special and we need to continue to fight the battle to keep it because we're losing it," Gov. LePage said.

The governor also said the three biggest issues facing Maine are education, lowering taxes and energy costs.
