BROWNVILLE, Maine (NEWS CENTER)--Governor LePage issued a state of emergency for many parts of the state because of a storm that caused damages in late June.
So far, hard hit communities have not received any state or federal assistance. Officials in those communities are scrambling to find the funding to get their towns up and running.
The town of Brownville has spent 130 thousand dollars out of a reserve account to fix damages caused by a flash flood in June. Town Manager Matthew Pineo has asked the Governor to release emergency funds to the town.
Pineo says the town is in desperate need of the help but it's the homeowner and small business owners he's most concerned about.
