KENNEBUNK, Maine (AP) - Police say a Thomaston insurance agent's arrest for promoting prostitution stemmed from reports of unusually high number of men going to a Kennebunk dance studio.
Mark Strong Sr. of the The Strong Agency was arrested Tuesday and charged with promotion of prostitution following a five-month investigation. He was released from the Knox County Jail on $5,000 bail.
According to court documents, Kennebunk police started investigating after receiving phone calls alerting them about suspicious activity at Pura Vida Studio with a female instructor there.
The reports described well-dressed men entering the back door of the Zumba studio at unusual hours, staying only a short time.
Strong was tied to the dance studio through bank records, insurance documents and telephone records obtained in a search.
Police say additional charges are likely.
