BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER)-- Today is Friday, and it is also the 13th day of the month. Which means it is Friday the 13th.

A Huffington Post article stated some interesting things about the number 13. For example the article stated that a lot of hospitals and hotels do not have a room number 13. More than 80 percent of high rises do not have a 13th floor.

Now some people in Bangor also have their own superstitions for Friday the 13th.

"My typical experience I guess would be never cross a path with a black cat or never walk underneath a ladder," Josephine Murphy said.

"If you watch people walking down the sidewalk there will be maybe about one out of five will be looking for that crack on the sidewalk and they'll do whatever they can to avoid it. Cause let's face it, no one wants to break their mothers back," Mike Dow said.

Today is the third Friday the 13th this year and each one has been 13 weeks apart.
