SEOUL, Korea (NEWS CENTER) - An army captain from Maine has died while serving in South Korea.
Captain David Haas was from Brunswick.
Senator Olympia Snowe has released a statement extending her sympathies to the family.

She says "He defended this country with limitless courage, and we owe him, and his family, a debt of immeasurable gratitude that we can never repay, and must never forget."

And Sen. Susan Collins says David Haas worked as an intern in her Washington office in 2004.
Collins says she hopes it is a comfort to those who loved David that so many people will always remember his dedication and service to his country.
Captain Haas had previously served two tours in Iraq.
He deployed with the 403rd Field Support Brigade.
He died yesterday, but the circumstances around his death are not yet known.
