BOWDOINHAM, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- One town in Maine celebrated their 250th birthday with a competition of walking on water.
For the 'Bowdoinham Days' event, a number of people took part in the lobster crates race across the Cathance River.
The brave contestants try their balance across the floating bridge. Winners won bragging rights. Would-be swimmers did not. Few who gave it their all actually managed to stay dry.
The celebration was also an attempt to do some fundraising for local causes, including raising money for the Bowdoinham Skate Park.
