Coming up on the next Bill Green's Maine... We're looking at a dark aspect of Maine history-conditions for women at the first Maine State Prison from 1875 until 1923... We'll talk with racing legend Bobby Allison about his first Cup Victory which he won in Maine.... And we'll head to the Cumberland Fair to see a different type of racing-pigs!

This was a fun show to do! We had a great time watching the pigs race at the Cumberland Fair.  It's always fun to visit a Maine fair.

Bobby Allison is a racing legend and I've always wanted to meet this leader of the famous Alabama Gang.  Bobby is a real gentleman and one of the finest drivers in the history of NASCAR.  He has faced tremendous personal tragedies and continues to live his life with good humor and graciousness.

The archive comes from last week's Green Outdoors.  The migration of the monarchs is now going on. Below is a great resource for monarch butterflies.

Finally, I wander off onto a subject matter that is not the norm on my show!  I just got interested and was committed to the story before I thought about the big picture!
Still I think Annette Vance Dorey wrote a fascinating study on this macabre subject. It also examines life in the Maine State Prison.  The horrific combination makes head shaking and fascinating reading.

I think you'll find this story fascinating.
I'm leaving for Europe tomorrow! I hope you enjoy the show.  I'll see you when I get back.
