SACO, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Police have arrested a homeless man in connection with the death of a woman inside a Saco motel room two weeks ago.
State Police Spokesperson Steve McCausland says detectives arrested 39-year-old Lebon Bruno Saturday and charged him with murdering 55-year-old Elizabeth Williams.
Williams was found severely injured inside a room at the Sunrise Motel on Route 1 in Saco on November 3rd. She was rushed to Maine Medical Center and died at the hospital a day later. Officials say Williams was homeless, and was well known all the Preble Street Resource Center in Portland.
The State Medical Examiner's Office has declared Williams' death a homicide, but no official cause of death has been released.
McCausland says Bruno and Williams had been involved in a relationship for some time and the death is considered a domestic violence homicide.
Bruno has been taken to the York County Jail and is due in court at the beginning of next week.
