Final recounts settle election uncertainty

AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - State election officials will conduct the final recount of ballots for Maine legislative races from the Nov. 6 election.

The recount in the House District 51 race between Democrat Michael Devin and Republican Alan Pinkham is scheduled for Monday afternoon in Augusta. District 51 covers Bristol, Damariscotta, Edgecomb, Newcastle, South Bristol and Monhegan Plantation.

Devin was 91 votes ahead of Pinkham on Election Day.

Also scheduled for Monday is a recount in the Piscataquis County commissioner's race between Democrat Donald Crossman and Republican Frederick Trask. Trask was 10 votes ahead of Crossman on Election Day.
