Body found in Lisbon

LISBON, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Police found what they are calling skeletal remains just a couple hundred feet into the woods. They say the remains could be those of Christiana Fesmire, but they will need to wait for a positive ID from the medical examiner.

Police found the body after receiving information about the possibility of remains being in this location at the intersection of Ferry and Wagg roads in Lisbon. The remains were located at about one o'clock this afternoon, and the State Police Evidence Recovery Team has been on the scene along with Lewiston and Lisbon police.

In November, a jury found Buddy Robinson guilty in the murder of Christiana Fesmire. Buddy Robinson, was accused of killing 22 year old Christiana Fesmire and dumping her body in the woods in July of 2011.

Police said that Robinson killed Fesmire in the ground floor apartment of 36 Highland Avenue in Lewiston in the early morning hours of July 1 by beating her, smashing her head in to the side of a bathtub and then submerging her head underwater until she died.

Robinson was accused of then stuffed her body into the back of an SUV and later dumped her body in a swampy wooded area.

While police can't say for certain that the body is Fesmire, they have confirmed that the body is connected with then investigation.

Police are still waiting on medical examiner's office to retrieve the remains. Once that happens, Investigators will secure the scene here for the night and be back here tomorrow morning to continue collecting evidence.
