AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) - Northern New England will not escape the winter storm that's creeping its way toward the region.
The National Weather Service is posting a winter storm warning for coastal areas, with heaviest accumulations, 4 to 8 inches, expected in the mid-coastal areas. Farther south in Maine and parts of New Hampshire are also expected to get 4 to 8 inches of windblown snow Saturday night, while accumulations in northern Maine are expected to be somewhat less.
Winter weather advisories are posted over most of New Hampshire and Vermont, where many areas could see 3 to 5 inches by Sunday.
The mountains of New Hampshire and western Maine are expected to get 2 to 4 inches.
