PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Late Tuesday night the House approved a fiscal cliff compromise bill.

It offers no cuts but does tax individuals making more than $400K and couples making more than $450K.

Some see it as a win for Democrats since that was the stipulation President Obama was hoping for in a compromise.

It also extends expiring unemployment benefits for the long-term jobless, prevents a cut in fees for doctors who treat Medicare patients and cancels a $900 pay increase due to lawmakers in March.

Another provision is designed to prevent a spike in milk prices.

Political Analysts Ethan Strimling and Phil Harriman stopped in on the MORNING REPORT to offer their take on the compromise and how it will impact us here in Maine.
