AUGUSTA, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - The House and Senate members were sworn into office a month ago, but for most of them this was the real start of work.

There are 186 of them. In the House about forty percent of the Representatives are new, most of them never elected to the Legislature before.

People like Republican Corey Wilson of Augusta...a Marine Corps veteran of Iraq, and now a local real estate broker. Wilson says he wants to work with both parties to help solve problems.

In the Senate there are also new faces, but they aren't all new to the Statehouse. Some served here years ago, and decided to come back and try again.

Democrat John Cleveland of Auburn...gone for 14 years. He's an economic development consultant and wants to help make some things happen.

And republican Ed Youngblood, from Brewer. He left the Senate ten years ago.Youngblood is a retired banker, and says he, too, is hoping to work for jobs.

Youngblood and Cleveland will have a chance to work those issues together-both have been assigned to the energy committee-likely to see a lot of action this year.

All of them talk about working together, reaching across the aisle to get things done. They're elected for just two years, and they know the folks at home will be waiting to see results.
