LEWISTON, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- For the thousands of Mainers living paycheck to paycheck, getting ahead financially can feel impossible.

The Lewiston Auburn CA$H Coalition is trying to help by giving people the tools to cut costs in different areas of their lives. The organization held a workshop this weekend to get people on the right track. The program's organizer Dottie Perham-Whittier says it's easy to feel helpless when it comes to getting your finances under control. That's why she put several experts under one roof.

"In our economy I think we can all agree that it's challenging to keep on track with bills and budgets and whatnot, so we wanted to provide some topics such as weatherization, how to be financially fit, and how to use coupons to your benefit" Perham-Whittier said.
