DEDHAM, Maine (NEWS CENTER) --- Due to the approach of this weekend's snow storm, the 2013 Polar Plunge to benefit Camp CaPella and Camp Sunshine will be postponed one week according to event organizers.
Joe Dowling says with many participants coming from far away places to take part, drifting snow could pose a safety risk. He also says the weather would hamper attempts to set up for the plunge on Friday when the storm is expected to be strong.
The plunge is held each year at Camp CaPella to benefit the camp, which is for kids with physical and developmental disabilities. Camp Sunshine in Casco, which is for children with life-threatening illnesses, also benefits from the event.
The new date for the Polar Plunge will be Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 1 p.m.
