(NEWS CENTER) - Even in death, Harry Stamps continues to draw attention.
His love of deviled eggs and his hatred for Daylight Savings Time, his unique take on fashion and his love for the women in his life are all highlights in a cleverly written obituary.
The obit, written by Stamps' daughter on her car ride to his funeral according to the Biloxi Sun Herald, has caught fire online, prompting articles at the Huffington Post, Yahoo! and now NEWS CENTER.
He despised phonies, his 1969 Volvo (which he also loved), know-it-all Yankees, Southerners who used the words "veranda" and "porte cochere" to put on airs, eating grape leaves, Law and Order (all franchises), cats, and Martha Stewart. In reverse order. He particularly hated Day Light Saving Time, which he referred to as The Devil's Time. It is not lost on his family that he died the very day that he would have had to spring his clock forward. This can only be viewed as his final protest.
Be sure to read the full obituary. It is charming and fairly vibrates with palpable love for an eccentric father.
