CAMDEN, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - A fast-moving fire destroyed a home in Camden this afternoon on Lily Pond Drive.

Camden Fire Chief Chris Farley says the alarm for the house came in shortly before 2PM this afternoon. Farley says the house was fully ablaze when the first truck arrived and the roof collapsed a short time later.

Volunteers from Camden and three other towns fought the flames, Farley says they were able to save the garage, but nothing else. The chief says David Vengal and his family were not home when the fire broke out, and no one was hurt.

The Fire Marshal's investigators were on scene late this afternoon trying to find out how the fire started. No one was home at the time and no word yet on a cause.
