Upcoming Lewiston Auburn Film Festival largest yet

LEWISTON, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Over the span of four days, the third annual Lewiston Auburn Film Festival will host 20 events and screen 75 films, making it one of the largest film festival in Maine.

"It's grown exponentially," said film festival organizer Molly McGill. "Our first year we had one day, last year we had three days, this year we said 'Why not four?'"

The LA Film Festival begins Thursday, April 4th with Discovery Channel's "Survivorman" Les Stroud holding a book signing at Prose Gallery on Lisbon Street.

Friday, Apirl 5th is the world premier of Patrick Dempsey's Peloton Project film, which follows 40 cyclists riding 2,500 miles from Calgary to Lewiston to raise awareness about cancer.

The premier has sold out the Franco-American Heritage Center in Lewiston, which seats more than 400 people.

The Peloton Project will have additional showings throughout the weekend.
