LINCOLN, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- It's a tough market for hardware stores in Lincoln. One company was close to having to shut the doors until a larger company stepped in with the idea of merging. From there, the choice was simple.
S.W Collins has purchased Haskell Lumber on West Broadway in Lincoln, saving the jobs of all seven employees. The Caribou based company says it will keep the same crew to operate the new location, their first outside of The County, where they currently have three.
With the new name will come a new building in a new location down the road. S-W Collins purchased the land back in November for 40,000 dollars, and plans to build a 43-thousand square foot warehouse.
