BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) --- A man from New York has now been charged with murder in connection with the stabbing death of a Bangor man that took place this month.
A Penobscot County grand jury indicted 23-year-old Akeem Harris for the death of Thomas Neil Taylor. Taylor died on April 9, 2013 after he was stabbed outside of his Ohio Street apartment. It all followed some kind of altercation that happened at the Birch Circle housing complex in Bangor.
Responders rushed Taylor to Eastern Maine Medical Center where he later died. He left behind a wife and two young children. Bangor police say Taylor and Harris knew each other although their exact connection isn't clear at this point.
An arrest warrant has now been issued for the suspect. Bangor police say they are hopeful they'll have Harris in custody soon.
