Maine Forest Service fights 100+ acre wildfire

T18 MD, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Maine Forest Rangers are fighting a fire that has consumed about 100 acres of land in an unorganized township near Cherryfield.

The wildfire in T18 MD is near an old air force backscatter radar site.

Rangers say that not buildings are currently threatened by the fire.

The Maine Forest Service has four rangers on scene, as well as two helicopters.

Firefighters from local departments are also assisting.
