GLENBURN, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Hundreds of volunteers from across the state joined Game Wardens Sunday in the search for a missing teen.

15 year old Nichole Cable left her home in Glenburn to meet in person an internet connection.

That was Mothers Day. Her mother hasn't seen her since.

The Penobscot County Sheriff's Department says more than 350 people turned out Sunday morning to help conduct ground searches in the towns of Glenburn, Hudson and West Old Town.

In a news release, Chief Deputy Troy Morton says searchers did find several items that investigators will examine.

Volunteer searchers trekked through marshy woodlands in their search for evidence. And they say they're happy to support Nichole and her family.

"I'm from the town over and everyone's been talking about," says Kenduskeag resident Roland Laliberty, "and I thought it would be really nice to try to come out and help out with the community around me."

Gretchen Gardner from Glenburn agreed. "I hope it does comfort the parents to know that there are people that don't even know them or their family here and they are still trying to help find their daughter.

By Sunday night, investigators had received more than 200 tips and leads.
