GLENBURN, Maine (NEWS CENTER)-- It has been a difficult few weeks for the family of Nichole Cable, the missing teen from Glenburn whose body was found by the Maine Warden Service Monday night. But the community is rallying around those closest to Nichole and organizing events to help the family in their time of need.
A balloon release in honor of Nichole is scheduled for tomorrow at 6:30 PM. Those who would like to attend should bring a balloon and meet in the BJ's market parking lot at 912 Hudson Road in Glenburn.
A company called the Workstore in Glenburn is making T-shirts, sweatshirts and stickers dedicated to Nichole's memory. Item costs range from $5 - $20, and organizers at the store told us all proceeds will go to the Nichole Cable Memorial fund. To order an item visit the Workstore at 2780 Broadway in Glenburn, or call (207) 947-1100.
According to a Facebook group, a spaghetti supper is also being held to raise money for the Nichole Cable Memorial Fund. It will be held at the Knights of Columbus hall in Old Town on May 31st from 4:30 - 7:00 in the evening. The cost is $5 a plate, and those who attend are asked to head over to a candlelight vigil that will be held directly after the dinner in City Park.
If you would like to send in a donation directly to the Nichole Cable memorial fund, you can do so by visiting your local People's United Bank. An account has already been established there under Nichole's name.
