BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER)-- Since 15-year-old Nichole Cable's body was found late Monday night, hundreds have rallied together to show support for her family and honor Nichole. One way they've done that is through forming the Nichole Cable Memorial Fund.
The fund is designed to raise money for Nichole's family as well as to help other families who are going through similar situations. The Workstore in Glenburn is making stickers and several items of clothing with Nichole's name and picture on them. Orders can be placed at firstname.lastname@example.org or by calling 207-947-1100. The store's goal is to raise $3,000 for the family.
Cassandra Conroy is another person who is doing her part to help out. She was at the Bangor Mall Saturday selling remembrance bracelets for $2.75 each. $1.75 to pay for them to made and the rest going towards the memorial fund.
"I knew that a lot of people wanted bracelets and memorial things for her to remember her by," said Conroy. "I just felt like donating was something that I should be helping with.
There will be a fundraiser Saturday night at 7 p.m. at the East Ridge Stable in Charleston. That will include a candlelight vigil, silent auction and raffle.
Another event going on to raise money for the Nichole Cable Memorial Fund is a spaghetti supper scheduled for Friday, May 31, from 4:30-7 p.m. at the Old Town Knights of Columbus Hall at 5 Gilman Falls Ave. The meal will cost $5 per person and donations will be accepted. A candlelight vigil is scheduled for immediately after that dinner at the Riverfront Park.
