Showers started to move into western Maine during the afternoon hours Sunday. Those showers will continue to move east through the overnight hours. Pretty nice start to the work week, but we do stand the chance of some scattered showers and thunderstorms both Monday and Tuesday. High pressure then provides us with quiet conditions Wednesday and Thursday.
Tonight - Cloudy skies, scattered showers, and areas of fog. We will see a steadier and sometimes heavy rain closer to the mountains and northern Maine. Lows in the 50s.
Monday - Mix of sun and clouds. Some showers and thunderstorms will start to pop up during the afternoon. Highs in the 70s. Some places in southern and western Maine could hit the low 80s.
Extended Forecast - Partly cloudy with the chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms Tuesday. Any activity will be widely scattered in nature. High pressure builds in on Wednesday. I am still watching a storm system that will be moving out to sea to our south Wednesday. Right now the high is keeping the storm far enough south to allow for a sunny day. Sunny skies continue Thursday. A little more clouds with a few scattered showers Friday. Sunny skies and warm temperatures next weekend.
